Wallaby!

Here is Ava posing with the wallabies she made at last weeks animal show at the library. There is a couple that live in out town who collect exotic animals as pets. Every once in awhile they will host an animal program to show them off. It was very cool. They showed a large african tortoise(Ava's favorite), an albino wallaby and a south american raccoon. I am still mad at myself for not making sure my batteries were charged in my camera before we went because I missed some great photo opportunities. The animals were wandering (hopping) freely around the room with the kids. The raccoon was jumping from shoulder to shoulder of the adults. It really seemed to love Paul's shoulders! The tortoise was bigger than Ava and was just wandering slowly around. It was very social! After the animals, the kids got to make paper wallabies! It was a fun evening.

Old Pictures

The Little Ballerina. I was looking at old pictures last night and I found a few of my favorites that I thought I would post. All I can say is that kids grow fast! I've learned to enjoy every minute.
Ava and Daddy.
Ava and Josie taking a cruise. This was taken at Ava's 2nd Birthday Party.
Ava on the Enchanted Forest Dog.
Halloween. Ava and Josie are 2 and Georgia is 4. (I Think)
Here is Aunt Jessie holding Ava as a baby. "Jessie" was one of Ava's first words!

I love this shot of Ava picking flowers.
Ava as a newborn.
Brendan as a newborn.

What Big Noses You Have!

What happened?
Russell had a great time doctoring photos with Ava's
VTech photo Editor. Look at what he did to his family!

Uncle Russell

Brendan is suprised about something!

Uncle Russell came over to spend the night last night. Ava was happy because they played a lot of board and card games. Brendan enjoyed a new face in the house as well.

MEME

My Aunt Joann, at Ten Kids and a Dog, tagged me for this meme. The rules for this meme are: (1) Link to the person that tagged you. (2) Post the rules on your blog. (3) Share six non-important things/habits/quirks about yourself. (4) Tag six random people at the end of your post by linking to their blogs. (5) Let each random person know they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their website.

1) I love to read fiction books. I don’t get a lot of time to read anymore, but as a child and teenager one of my favorite things to was to curl up in bed with a good book.

2) I love the water. Sitting by the river or lake relaxes me.

3) My favorite movies are dramas and comedies. I love to laugh.

4) I love art. I love looking at it, but I also like drawing, painting and writing myself. Once in awhile, out of the blue I get a strong urge to do something artsy.

5) I enjoy helping others and wish that I could help more. My BA is in Human Services/Psychology and I look forward to putting it to use when Brendan gets older.

6) I played the flute in my high school band and marching band. I loved being in the marching band!

I’m sorry but I don’t know anybody else with a blog.

My Little Guy

I have not had many chances to get on the computer lately and take pictures because I have had my hands full holding a baby for the past couple of weeks. Brendan has been going through a stage where he wants to be in my arms at all times. (I hope that it is just a stage!) He has discovered his hands but they won't quite do what he wants them to yet. He tries really hard to reach for toys but he gets frustrated when he can't quite grasp them. I also think that he is teething which also makes it hard because he wants chew on his teethers but can't, so after about ten minutes of being in his play pen (up above), swing, bouncy seat, excersaucer, or on the floor, he gets bored and frustrated and lets me know that he wants to be picked up. As much as I love holding my little boy, I do have other things that I need to do so I can't wait until he masters hand control so that I can put him down. (smile) My Little Tough Guy!
Look at those muscles! (and that belly!)
"Hey, I can move my toes!"

We Hope You Had A Happy Valentines Day

Not Feeling Well

Brendan's been feeling "under the weather" with a cough a cold.
These pictures are of him snuggled up with his nebulizer, which he's been using to help his cough.
Although Brendan doesn't feel his best...
..his spirits are still high.
We are all taking great care of him and hopefully he will be feeling his best real soon!

Snow Tubing!

Yesterday we spent the afternoon snow tubing. Paul, Ava and Russell went tubing while Brendan and I watched. I did go down the hill once and it was a lot of fun! While we were tubing, Ben went snow boarding. He is very good at this. He gets a lot of practice because he's in the ski club and they go once a week. Unfortunately I didn't get a photo of Ben but up above is Paul and Ava coming down the hill. They are the 2nd and 3rd ones in.
Whee! Everybody had a great time!
There they are at the top!
Here they are at the bottom. (Paul and Ava)
Ava is happy. "Let's do it again!"
Here are Ava and Brendan warming up. They are both full of smiles.
Russell, Paul and Brendan warming up in the lodge. It was a great afternoon!

Science Museum

On Thursday we dropped my computer off to get fixed. While we were waiting we went to McDonalds for lunch. This was Ava's choice because she wanted to play at the new play place there. There are pictures of this below. They somehow got out of order. After lunch we went to the Sci-Tech Center. "Look out Brendan. There is a Dinosaur after you!"
Sci-Tech Center. Ava could here my voice in this tube from another room.
This is the shadow room. You step away after the light flashes and your shadow sticks to the wall.
This is Brendan getting down at the play place. I think he really wished he could go play with all of the other kids. He was so excited and kept trying to jump from my arms.
Here is Ava in McDonald's Play Place.

The kaleidoscope room.

Brendan did a lot of exploring at the Sci-tech Center as well. I think that his greatest discovery was himself in the mirror.

I think that Ava's favorite part of the science museum is the play room.
