Our way home.

We had a great afternoon at the beach! When we were all done we had to hurry back to the ferry since the last one ends at 7:00.
Wer made our way back down the trail.
Ava thought this was a good tree to take a picture in.
Here we are on our way home.
There is home straight ahead! We had a great time. Ava had fun in the new land and she wants to go back again soon!

More of the Beach on Wolfe Island

Brenda was a little "beach bum."

There is Ava going out to swim.
The beach is long, about a mile long, it goes right around the bay. I would have liked to have walked to the other side, because Paul said that side was less overgrown, (he used to come here as a kid by boat) but we had our stroller and strollers don't roll well on sand.

Big Sandy Bay on Wolfe Island

After we got off the ferry and went through customs, we drove to the Beabh. To get to the beach, we had to hike, twenty minutes down this nature trail.
It was very hot and there were tons of mosquitos and blackflies because the trail went right through a swamp. It was worth it because we saw butterflies, and a deer crossed the path in front of us. We looked for turtles at the turtle crossing. but we didn't spot any, although I'm sure they were there.
At the end of the path was an "island paradise."

Here is Ava in front of a sand dune. Some were almost as tall as a house.

A Trip to Wolfe Island

Last weekend we took the ferry to Wolfe Island. The ferry make its trip from our town to the island every thirty minutes so Ava has seen it many times and she has always wanted to ride on it. Wolfe Island is a Canadian Island it is also the largest of the Thousand Islands. There is another ferry on the island that takes people to Kingston, Ontario, but we decided to stay on Wolfe Island and go to their beach. Up above we see the ferry coming to pick us up. We couldn't believe how many cars they fit onto the little ferry. We were packed in like sardines.
I snapped this photo of the kids in the car. Ava is excited on what she called an "adventure." She had never been to Canada before, (which is funny since we live so close) so she kept saying that we were going to a new "land". Brendan really wanted to get out of the car, which we did although it was only a seven minute ferry ride, one mile across.
This ship got very close. It passed right in front of us.
I remember when I was younger, some of my friends and I were in a small motor boat and I had the idea to take the boat as close to a passing ship (like the one above) as we could. Boy was that a mistake! Our little boat almost tipped over because of the water pressure around the ship! We laughed about it later, but I remeber that at the time I was terrified because our boat was almost at a 90 degree angle out of the water. We almost fell out, but we learned to never get that close again!!)

Fun at Grandma's

The girls enjoyed licking the frosting off my (and Brad's) cake at Grandma Giffords.
Jenny and Rick entertained everybody with Rick's new Karaoke Machine.
Everybody got a chance to sing. We all had a lot of fun!

Grandpa's Boat

On Sunday we went over to Mom and Ricks house to celebrare my birthday. I have been trying to post photos all week, but I've been having trouble. Paul and Ben worked on Grandpa H's boat for awhile. It will sure be nice to get it back in the water.

Little Piano Man

Brendan really enjoys playing my keyboard, so I just put it on the floor and now he can just play away.
He likes that sound.

Swimming Lessons

Ava began swimming lessons this morning. She goes every weekday morning at 8:00 am for two weeks.
She is the second kid in with a pink suit and pony tail.
Here she is under water.
There she goes!

Brendan's New Friend

When Brendan saw this doll of Ava's this morning he just went nuts, He was talking to it and touching it. He really thought it was real so I put them both on the floor to play.
"Mom, she's not really as much fun as Elsie was."

Brendan's showing his me his noisy block.

(Looking at these pictures, it might be time for Brendan's first haircut.)

We want to wish Brad a Happy Birthday!

Happy Belated Birthday to Grandma H. We hope that you had a great day!
I remember when I was younger we used to share birthday cakes since our birthdays are so close:)

Playing at Elsie's House

We went to Elsie's house tp play yesterday. Brendan had a great day playing with Elsie and her toys.
This photo is blurry but I thought that the look on Brendan's face was cute. This is right after a kiss on the cheek from Elsie.
Rocking in the chair.
I got to watch Elsie for a little while when
Jessie went to do errands. I was very impressed that I was able to get both babies to sleep at the same time.

Fun at Georgia's Game

Emmy enjoyed a nice drink of water. She is so active that she must work up quite a thirst.
I just have to enjoy the time I have with Brendan being immobile, because as Emmy showed us last night that once they get a handle on walking, they move fast! Jenny and Brad get quite a workout.
Here is pretty Josie.
Ava had a great time playing with Josie and Josie's friends,
There goes little Emmy. What a cutie!
