A Trip to Wolfe Island

Last weekend we took the ferry to Wolfe Island. The ferry make its trip from our town to the island every thirty minutes so Ava has seen it many times and she has always wanted to ride on it. Wolfe Island is a Canadian Island it is also the largest of the Thousand Islands. There is another ferry on the island that takes people to Kingston, Ontario, but we decided to stay on Wolfe Island and go to their beach. Up above we see the ferry coming to pick us up. We couldn't believe how many cars they fit onto the little ferry. We were packed in like sardines.
I snapped this photo of the kids in the car. Ava is excited on what she called an "adventure." She had never been to Canada before, (which is funny since we live so close) so she kept saying that we were going to a new "land". Brendan really wanted to get out of the car, which we did although it was only a seven minute ferry ride, one mile across.
This ship got very close. It passed right in front of us.
I remember when I was younger, some of my friends and I were in a small motor boat and I had the idea to take the boat as close to a passing ship (like the one above) as we could. Boy was that a mistake! Our little boat almost tipped over because of the water pressure around the ship! We laughed about it later, but I remeber that at the time I was terrified because our boat was almost at a 90 degree angle out of the water. We almost fell out, but we learned to never get that close again!!)
